I absolutely love these bright vibrant pieces by Zieta Scott featured on the cover of the current Ceramic Review (issue 247)

Stemmers

This piece of sculpture looks like the vessels I have produced where multiple thrown shapes are attached together. The name 'stemmers' has been coined by the artists because they represent stem cell creations. I think they also look like bubbles ~ a 3D version of the bubble pictures I used to make when I was little.

I like this idea of drilling holes in the pieces. Changing the forms from functional to sculptural. Also pushing in and out to make impressions and change the shapes

Work in Progress

Hans Coper? I wish!

Remind me a bit too much of urinal pots!

I really like this idea although the relationship of the sizes don't quite work

Same form but lying down

A happy accident....
This selection of work shows my first experiments for my current project. I have been trying to translate drawings into 3D forms..... not sure they look like my drawings, but I like the idea of the wheel taking over and seeing what forms happen to evolve.

Tripod Pot

I'm not sure I really like this finished shape but it's an interesting technique!

Pots for sale

This is the design of the pots in Atelier
I have used different glazes on them though... much softer semi-matt colour range in Blue, Green and Stone

College work

I finally started making some work for my project after far too long procrastinating! I've thrown some pieces which I am going to experiment with tomorrow joining together and distorting.
I had a good chat with my lovely tutor Taz (she might be reading this!)! An idea has sprung up about making vessels and turing them on their side and changing where the opening is?? Also having the opening off centre??? I'll start on some more tryouts tomorrow.
If I remember to take my camera to college I'll post some pictures of work in progress soon.
